Christmas Eve
We went to the Christmas Eve Service at Redeemer Presbyterian Church. Nicole has been attending there for the last few months. It's a very old, beautiful church downtown Indy. We really enjoyed the service. They had a whole program of readings with carols interspersed and a short homily from the pastor. The evening ended with lighting the candles. That is probably one of my favorite memories from Christmas. We would always go to a candlelight service. Back in the dark ages the fire department wasn't as worried about fires so we were able to leave the service with our candles lit. I loved seeing all the cars pulling out of the parking lot with candle light in them. It was a real illustration of how we should go and be a light into the world spreading God's love to others. We would go to my grandparents house after the service to play games, specifically dominos. Good memories.
After the service on Wednesday, we went driving around to look at Christmas lights. I was disappointed at how few of the big houses had decorated. This was a shot out of the window at downtown Indy.
A house that was all decked out across from the church.
