Goodbye Bathroom Window

I'll bet there aren't too many of you who have this beautiful view out of your bathroom window.


When we added on the garage, this was the only architectural feature of the existing house that didn't work. It is against code to have this window here, so we had it boarded off on the outside. Ed's project on Saturday was to take this window out.

It came out without too much drama or destruction to the bathroom wall. The two rectangles below the window are from the old towel bar, which we are replacing. We could just frame in and drywall over the window area, but we decided to use the space. This is a very small bathroom, so a recessed storage and display area is a welcome addition.

We bought some bead board for the back. There will be a frame around this and shelving added to it. To finish it off, all will be painted white. I think it will look great!
