Flooding in Indiana

Courtney called from work around 7:40 this morning and asked Ed to bring her some dry shoes and asked if he could move her car. Apparently the parking lot was beginning to flood. I went with him to expedite the moving of the car. We couldn't go out our normal subdivision entrance since the water was too deep there. When we got to the hospital the two main entrances were flooded, so we went in the service entrance. Courtney had already moved her car, so Ed ran her up some dry shoes and socks.

I decided to take a few pictures of the newly formed river in our front yard. Here is a panoramic shot. We have not seen this much water in our neighborhood in the 9 years that we have been here. Apparently it is much worse just south of us. I was going to run errands today, but will be spending the day at home instead since many of the roads have spots under water as well. The rain has finally let up, so lets hope the sun comes out soon! For the record: as we were winding down last night Ed was checking to see the chances of rain, trying to decide wether to water the sod or not. It was a 50% chance to which he replied, "that's not a very good chance then." We opted not to water the sod, and as you can see the chances were very good that it would rain.

Remember that huge rock Ed and Courtney moved into the yard? Here it is doing it's job remaining steadfast in the midst of the storm.

That's quite the lovely river going on in the front yard!
